Florida House Rep. Darryl Rouson Did Not Vet Child Advocate Peter Thomas Senese

Well.

Peter Thomas Senese--author of the self-published Chasing the Cyclone and supporter of the Child Abduction Prevention Act (sponsored by Darryl Rouson (D-St. Petersburg)--has some explaining to do.

As does Florida House Rep. Darryl Rouson.

As reported by the St. Petersburg Times (5/20/2010), Mr. Senese--who claims his ex-wife colluded with her attorneys in the International kidnapping of their son--has more to his author bio than the flap cover details. (If a cover even exists. The book is not yet for sale).

Senese advocated last March before the Public Safety & Domestic Security Policy Committee for the passage of HB 787.

He failed to recount the following to the committee :

(...)

--reneged on a promise to help pay $30,000 toward the return of the man's abducted children from the Philippines.

--landed in a California jail for bouncing $6,800 in checks used to finance a hot-air balloon wedding. (Whereupon his then-pregnant wife returned to her native Canada, that's the international kidnapping part).

--he pleaded guilty to grand larceny in his native New York in a scheme targeting doctors and insurance executives. Senese even set up temporary offices at prestigious Manhattan addresses to buff his image as a rich venture capitalist with homes in Italy and Boca Raton, Newsday reported.

--(claimed his wife sold their son) to a pedophile ring in Macau. She says that she and (her son) were never in Macau. The boy has spent his entire life in the United States, Canada, where he was born, and New Zealand, where his mother took him in 2006 with court permission, records show.

And because Representative Rouson--a former prosecutor for Pinellas County and up for reelection this midterm--failed to properly vet Mr. Senese, the Florida Legislature did--proving once again--what they do best...

..."overwhelming" passed yet another child protection law without doing their research.

"I would hate to think that anybody would seek to profit off the fears and concerns of real people,'' Rouson said when asked about Senese's background.

"Who knows why Peter Senese does what he does?" he said. "At the end of the day it's a good law that will help judges and ease the fears of parents and keep kids safe. Everything else will take care of itself.''

--Rep. Darryl Rouson, District 55

" he said. "At the end of the day it's a good law that will help judges and ease the fears of parents and keep kids safe. "

This has yet to be explained rationally. How does ANY law that makes it a crime to abduct anyone 'help keep them safe'?

If perp A grabs child B, then child B is not being 'kept safe'. All the law allows is that if Prep A is caught, then he will be dealt with more harshly. It doesn't keep the kids safe, nor does it give the population that uses their brain a sense that they are any safer.

For those that believe that the law does keep them safe, then I would ask where they get that stuff they smoke, I want some.

The Florida Legislature should be given a term limit on the number of laws they are permitted to pass.

Perhaps only then, would they prove so quick to jump on any law that looks politically advantageous.

Term limits wouldn't work. The Legislators would then craft even worse laws than they do now.

They would make it a point to try and show the public how "tough on crime" they can be...

If you ask me, I think the public should be made to sign a document acknowledging every law proposed that could effect anyones civil rights or liberties.

This way the Legislators could not get away with some of the backroom laws that are put together and passed.

The public could then MAKE the Legislators read the studies as well as case law AND the constitution prior to any vote.

The problem we have with ANY POLITICIAN is that we really don't know what they are doing or proposing until it's too late.

Want proof? Just look how many minutes they gave the public to speak out against HB 119 in the Senate Judiciary committee prior to the vote on the Floor.

One of the Florida Action Committee's speakers had to SHOUT her objections as they "rushed to a vote" on this law. They gave her 1 minute to speak. 1 minute!!

Needs an attorney. That's the only thing that will end this. LAWSUITS. Nothing else will do a damned thing. NOTHING. LAWSUITS. Sue them personally for the grief they have caused your child. Even if you have to do it pro se. It goes into google once it is filed. DO IT.

What would make Vox post a link to a totally unrelated story? Vox ?? You must have copied the wrong link.

Vox posted the link to the story to show the unjustness of what went on. The story indicates the man "admitted" guilt.

Think about it. We all know what this will do to a persons life. But yet he ADMITTED HIS GUILT.

Vox is calling attention to something we ALL need to be aware of and it relates to this post because just like the guy who admitted guilt.....this law is just as much of a sham too!!

I always hope you guys will throw your two cents in. There are a few faux rabid supporters of this arrest/admission/lockemupforlife thang. BUT, more and more the tide is turning. Public opinion is still important. If they've got people planted to stand up for this wrongdoing then we have to be just as strong avowing it's wrong headedness. FUNNY !!!! BILL MCCOLLUM IS SUFFERING right now. I don't care for alex sink. At all. I think she will be almost as bad for florida but NO ONE could be as bad as the horsey one. Except if jeb666 slithered back in.... I AM SICK OF THESE 'choices'. The horsey one or a faux democrap. I'm sorry I do neglect to explain the links. Sometimes I get into a raging hurry and I can't get back to the computer for hours and hours. BUT, go look how they are defending this: 'cause them LEOS KNOW' what they are doing. They KNOW who is downloading the stuff... they don't make mistakes. Right. IF they know sooooo much about it then why is it still available?? Instead of arresting folks for downloading it (dinero and job security) why isn't ONE GUY put on shift to examine every limewire upload as it comes? It might take them awhile to catch up but once they were on top of it they should be able to do this job the way it was intended. GET THE UPLOADER. STOP ENTRAPPING PEOPLE. STOP PLANTING THE STUFF AND FRAMING people. Notice that lately we have them on the run defending the fact that 'planting it' could never happen. So first they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win. We're rolling around in between ridicule and fighting right now. WE HAVE TO KEEP MAKING THE POINT. I actually think it's working. They're starting to call us child pornsters if we defend the fact that the discovery is questionable. LOL. That is SO UNAMERICAN. Our country is BASED on questioning authority and fighting for human rights to dignity and freedom.
Okay, I'm done. For now.

I'm sorry. I DO NOT believe that this many people confess one hundred percent. I believe they are THREATENED, COERCED, told there is no defense and THEN they confess. That's what I see happening. BULLSHIT. You get arrested. You just shut your mouth. End of story. Confess? What?? Am I holding a smoking gun?? Maybe I was so terrified when I saw that body that I grabbed the gun to defend myself in case the murderer came back for me .... please, people DO NOT confess. A rare bird is a confessor. Don't you think?

MY GOD ... I did not know or had forgotten that rouson was a prosecutor. I'll tell you something privately when I get the chance. Wow. His wife is also running for some office or hopefully has already lost. He is NOT an obama fan. I think he is only fan of HE. But, READ THIS:
http://rcooke.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=754874

Whether the initial poster is genuine or not (maybe) read the violence and hatred that spews. Downright CRIMINAL threats. THIS is what the 'hate RSO' trend has created. The people can't even ask for help. And a reminder that in somc countries this is not only normal but an accepted part of life. Which is not to say it's correct. It's to say that the behavior is not considered deviant or even unusual in some cultures. It's a behavior issue and not necessarily a criminal issue until they whip up the public frenzy. They should be investigating what causes this but INSTEAD they chose the shoulder shrug, labeled it 'incurable' and then proceeded to make millions off this and off lost and endangered children. For me, it was shocking to even read that hatred. I've read a LOT of hatred on the web. A LOT. Never anything like this.
