We recognize that registration and residency schemes do not and can not work. We encourage effective legislation, based on empirical evidence focused towards an informed society able to recognize and implement strategies that work.
We seek a justice system based in fact and dealing justice based on the actual elements of the case. We seek a justice system that is fair to both the society it serves and the accused it judges.
The Myth
- Most people on the registry Molested or Raped a Child.
- Recidivism for Sex Offenders is very high.
- The Registry and Residency Restriction are effective tools to make communities safer and protect children.
- Children are at greatest risk of being the victim of a sex crime from a person on the Registry.
- The most effective way to protect against being the victim of a sex offense is to avoid strangers.
- A person is in the most danger of being the victim of a sex offense from a person on the Registry.
The Fact
- The Majority of those on the Registry did not commit forcible rape of an adult or a child.
- Recidivism for sex offenders is the lowest for all categories of crime with the possible exception of murder.
- The Registry has had no impact in reducing the incidence of sex offense or in reducing the already low recidivism. rate.
- A child is at least 18 times more likely to be the victim of molestation, sexual assault, or abuse in their own home than being the victim of a person previously convicted of a sex offense.
- An adult or child is 19 times more likely to be the victim of a first time offender, a person who is not and would not be on the registry, than a person previously convicted of a sex offense.

It's refreshing to see that there are actually people who exist on this earth that are willing to tell the truth about sex offenders, and the real recidivism rates!

"While the Georgia state sex offender registry currently lists one of his accused killers, George David Edenfield as "incarcerated", the fact is, the man was living directly across the street from 150 Horseshoe Lane, little Christopher’s home. (Another example of why the sex offender registry is a useless tool and should NOT be relied upon to protect your children.)
Also living across the street were George Edenfield’s parents, Peggy and David Edenfield.. David Edenfield also has a past criminal history of incest involving someone who was not his son. According to police reports, the father and son Edenfields took turns sodomizing little Christopher while Peggy Edenfield watched and masturbated. Eventually, they allegedly strangled little Christopher and then dumped his body along a stretch of road about a mile from the home. This is a sick family. It is also being reported that George Edenfield is retarded to some degree.
The younger Edenfield (George) was in court just three days earlier on a charge of living less than 1,000 feet from a park. A violation of Georgia’s tough residency restriction laws. This forced George Edenfield to move in with his parents, who lived directly across from little Christopher.
In an incredible twist, it has been discovered that little Christopher’s father is also a registered sex offender due to an offense of statutory rape about ten years ago. We speculate that perhaps these very laws forced Christopher and his Dad into one of the few areas in Georgia not off limits to registered sex offenders, and consequently across the street from a very dangerous family with a history of abusing very young children. Thus placing little Christopher directly in harms way.

Interestingly, the mainstream media has actively been suppressing the fact that Christopher’s Dad is also listed as a registered sex offender on the Georgia state sex offender registry website. One would think that reporters would take this information and run with it."

I am so over Goverment .....my son had a naked picture on his computer of his girlfriend when she was 15 yrs old and he was 17 yrs old. there are many ,many kids doing this now a days....when my son turned 18 he was arested and convicted of possession of child porn.....he has never touched a child or even thought about it...it cost us about $30,000 just to keep him out of prison.Now he is a registered sex offender for the rest of his life...he has to wear a gps for the 10 yr probation period at a cost of $240.00 a month plus probation cost...here is another young mans life ruined because of a goverment that has not caught up with the times.....Florida Resident
