Although Gov. Charlie Crist Senate recently informed the press that sunshine will ray all over campaign dollars contributed towards his 2010 Florida Senate race, apparently the offenders living under the Julia Tuttle Causeway may never see the light of day. (Read more about those forced to live under the JT here).
From The Buzz, St. Petersburg Times (Charlie Crist says more sun will shine on his campaign cash, July 10, 2009):
(...)
Q: What about sex offenders under Julia Tuttle Causeway. Will you work to help resolve the situation?Crist: "Well, always. We’ve been involved in that issue for awhile and really I think we have to respect what the local governments want to do. They’re trying to protect their people. protect their children. And they have these limits that exist, and we respect that. So we’ll look at the lawsuit and do the best we can to help resolve that.”
We've? We've who? How about "WE" as in not you, Governor?
And Charlie just a heads up. We, the family members and friends of those designated as offenders in this state have become quite the voting demographic and will guarantee you this.
WE will do the best we can to conclude your political career. And the 2010 primary sounds like a good date to me for your retirement from politics.
Florida Republicans, do your job August 2010. Vote this guy OUT of office FOR GOOD.
As for the media, keep asking the questions. Hold Crist accountable for Julia Tuttle.

My Family is one of those voting groups and I can assure that Crist WILL NOT get a single vote. This includes votes from my extended family!!!
There is a place on the web that has the solution to "politics as usual, wink wink".
Have a look...click on my name above.
oh so many puns and so little time ,His "friend" Book will rise to his aid I am sure ,can't wait to see how many and much he gets from him and his firm and famileia,or his doctor daddy / we can fix any kid as long as the lawsuits hold off.think I'll go sing a few Queen songs for now in my closet.
Crist forgot to mention what is likely the real reason he sits idly by while the citizens languish under the JT.
Per Wiki...
"In 2002, Crist was elected Attorney General. Supporters of his candidacy included America's Most Wanted host John Walsh, who publicly filed Crist's gubernatorial candidacy paperwork, citing his work with the Center for Missing and Exploited Children."

The wheels on the bus go round and roung.....
Don't forget that Ron Book was invited to his wedding...
A competent Governor would have read the research, seen the changes in other states, understood that residency restrictions do more harm than good, and at LEAST have been a proponent of using no loitering safety zones instead of residency restrictions.
A competent Governor would be influencing the Cities, Counties, and State Legislature to this end.
A competent Governor would be for PREEMPTING local ordinances that he see’s are having disastrous results and take RESPONSIBILITY for the safety of all Florida Residents.
Charlie Crist ran is Gubernatorial race on the backs of sex offenders and has not learned anything at all in the time he has been Governor.
What we are in desperate need of is a Governor and Legislators with the intestinal fortitude to stand up for what they KNOW is right and educate the public to the truth about sex offenses so that there need not be a public outcry when they tell people like RON BOOK to go back and read the studies again until he understands them, and then change our state’s draconian, ineffective laws to those that are actually effective.
When Crist shrugged off the residency restriction causing homelessness problem, he shrugged off the supposed concern for children’s safety at the same time.
Now, WE knew where his head was at all along, but Mr. John Q. Public, wake up and smell incompetence and desire for votes, not child safety.
Are all republican gov's bad? Over here in Texas, we are working hard to get rid of our own empy suit, especially after his last minute veto of the revise Romeo and Juliet clause to the registry... Can Ron Paul govern two states at the same time???
Crist has given Floridians no reason to send him to the U.S. Senate.
His Republican competition--Marco Rubio--is no walk in the park either.
Hopefully, the Democratic nominee will be a person with ethics.
