Tom Feeney's Very Bad Week

The Weekly Haboob
4/28/2007

The big dust-up in my stretch of the Florida scrub is Rep. Tom Feeney's big fat bogie regarding his golf trip to Scotland.

The feds are investigating a Jack Abramoff email that apparently instructs Feeney's office on "How to Take an Overseas Golf Vacation at the Taxpayer's Expense."

Mr. Feeney is anxious to discuss this matter at the appropriate time.

Hmmm. I wonder what time prisoners "tee up" at Club Fed?

Follow that up that shot with one whopper of a story. Florida lawmakers want to legislate lying with the Truth in Government Act.

(Is that an oxymoron?)

"People come up here and lie every day of the week, and the statements they make affect 18-million people in the state of Florida," said bill sponsor Alex Villalobos, R-Miami. "This will restore some integrity in government."

Intentional lying would subject a lawmaker to felony perjury charges.

Slap a perjury charge on Tom Feeney.
